Runnersworld NightRun 2015. Race results

Last Wednesday (March 18), what I put off for almost a year happened - voluntarily deprived myself of part of the wisdom by removing the tooth. For this reason, I had to skip training on Wednesday. At first I wanted to transfer it to Thursday, but then I would not have time to recover by Friday, and on Saturday, according to the plan, there was a 32 km race. In short, it didn’t work out, well, okay, I thought, setting the alarm at 5:45 in the morning of Friday. And then a notification came that on Friday there will be a Runnersworld NightRun 2015 night race, on which I recorded in January. Great, you can’t get up early.

After work, he drove home, took his clothes and drove to Haarlemmermeerse Bos. At first there was an idea to run to Adidas Ultra Boost (to which I continue spit in Instagram, for this is a complete disappointment), but after a couple of hundred meters I decided that he didn’t care and ran to change into the proven Kinvara, at the same time he threw off a clearly extra T-shirt. After that, he ran into tents to get a number and a chip. The people were decently (the limit of the event is 888 people), some were hung with garlands like Christmas trees, part with false lights (which are decently blinded when a person runs towards), part, like me, were without illumination. Got a number, hooked a chip to his leg, put out a little near the tent, looking out for friends by virtual running club, then went to the start, where he went into the starting aviary and waited. The start was planned at 8:08 pm, but was delayed until 8:26 (the type was not in time, but 2 + 6 is also equal to 8). What a joke of the number 8 I did not understand (I remind you that the distance was 8.88 km).

Before the race, I made a plan, something like this: run harshly, but first keep the pulse at around 160 ores / min in order to have a reserve of forces for acceleration towards the end of the distance. Looking ahead, I’ll say that the plan failed. From the start, I decided to overtake a few people and immediately accelerated to pulse 172 (I have 174 pANOs), which periodically jumped to 175. Some guy clung to me, clearly younger than me, who drowned very loudly, but did not lag behind, although at first I even tried to leave in isolation. He overtook a very confident running girl with a guy. After 3 km I realized that the process of overtaking “ human pairs ” somehow dragged on and could not continue like this, we must slow down to lower the pulse. I tried - figs there, the decrease in the pulse rate practically did not decrease - to a maximum of 170 (as it ended up in the region of 170-172 until the end of the race). Clear business, that for kilometers to 4 I was pretty exhausted and the pace fell to 4:40 min / km. Around here, a stomping guy came off from me, then she overtook a girl with a dude and a few more people. But after 5 km no one was overtaken. A group of people with garlands and separately running lights between us were visible behind.

For a kilometer and a half to the finish line, 5 km running began to come across. The finish line was a looping climb on the Big Spotters Hill:

The road to it divided into two lanes by artificial candles - one lane up, one down, is rather crowded. I managed to run in without going one step, and my legs were already carrying back. The entire lifting descent is 1000 meters, after which a small straight section and finish. After the finish, he waited and met a dude from the ostrich and went home.

According to protocol my time is 37:50 (link to Strava). This is the 20th result in a men’s group (out of 163 participants) or the 22nd, taking into account two faster women (139 total participated). The carved girl (finished the second among women) turned out to be some local triathlete.

I liked the race, the result is a good, but the plan should be followed, otherwise you can put the cat under the tail for several months of training, having died after the 20th kilometer at the marathon.

PS. I postponed this report for almost a week - I was waiting for official photographs, but they were very amateur, which is very strange for an event of this magnitude, really could not find a photographer? Oh well.

Run with the baby tomorrow Runner’s World Zandvoort Circuit Run. He is 900 meters, and I am 12 km. The weather is promised disgusting with rain and wind. 13014 people signed up for the participants, it will be fun.
